Malibu Bound

What a treat it is to begin traveling again! Whew! We've been cooped up for so long, it's great to get out again and appreciate our beautiful world. Recently, I took an incredible trip to California.

Back in the day, I lived in California for five amazing years. It still one of my top destinations to visit. Palm Springs has such beauty and charm. Our first stop was to the La Quinta Resort and Spa. This is one of my favorite places to go to relax and recharge. The Spanish-style architecture is beautiful with whites and clays, accented with vibrant colors of flowers.

Next, we headed to Malibu. To start the day off, I took a walk on the beach where I met an energetic and fun Chocolate Lab named Walter. Now, I'm a dog lover, so I won him over by playing fetch with him- over and over and over. He could have gone all day! I decided needed to reserve my energy for my day ahead. Bye, Bye Walter!

First stop was the newly developed Malibu Lumber Yard. If you enjoy shopping and eating, this is the place for you! Of course, my first priority was art. The Malibu Contemporary Art Gallery took my excitement up a notch. This lovely gallery features Southern California-based artists who's work keeps you engaged and inspired. A seascape piece by artist, Will Pierce, caught my eye along with the painted surf board. So cool. For lunch, we headed to the highly recommended Nobu for some sushi. This restaurant never disappoints. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is outstanding. Finally, we discovered a neat hat shop called Teressa Foglia. So many styles and colors, anyone looking for some "personal shade" should check this place out.

Onward to the fabulous Beverly Hills. Shall I dare admit, once again I was drawn to art. Art Angels art gallery is a definite place to visit. The feature contemporary and eclectic art by both established artists and emerging. I got a photo of piece by artist, Flore. His art is unique, colorful and full of energy.

During my trip, I was able to catch up with the brilliant Jhoiey Ramirez. Studio Jhoiey specializes in Interior Design and Architecture. Her creativity is off the charts. It was such a pleasure spending time with her. Check out her website for some inspiration.

Those are my highlights and recommendations for Malibu. I hope you enjoy the pictures and websites. Until next time, Cheers!
